On the 1 year anniversary of my being a user of image sharing website Dump.fm I am releasing mirrrroring_DUMP.zip. This folder has been my digital palette and working space for all things dump since my joining a year ago.

I am releasing this folder in an effort to try and explore the idea of process in digital art as well as reflect on a year of ephemeral art production much of which has only been seen in the moment it was posted by members of Dump.fm. The contents of the folder include source files, works in progress and screen-captures with only a minimal amount of finished work that was posted to Dump.fm. As one inspects the files (many of which have dates in their name) small narratives emerge and patterns reveal themselves, to users of Dump.fm they might even be nostalgic. The work in the folder not only reveals my process of production on Dump.fm but also my habits, interests, and consumption, whether it be a screen-captured conversation between users or a list of saved images from another user I particularly enjoyed.

Hopefully the folder will not only serve as a sort of documentation of my time spent on Dump.fm throughout 2010-2011 but also a source of remixable and exchangeable material for others to use for their own purposes, whether it be remixing, re-imagining, defacing, satirizing, selling, trolling or just filling space on their hard drive.

Lastly this folder is a thank you to the founders, friends and most of all amazing community of users that I have been lucky to be a part of for the last year on Dump.fm.
